Take a gooooood look at this cover. Next Level.
Up until now, my favorite thing that Lil B had done was spit about tiny pants and tiny shirts [about a half-step off] on Wayne’s ‘Grove St. Party’ from Sorry 4 Tha Wait. For the last 36 hours, people have been raging about White Flame so I downloaded it, put it on, went to take a shower, and walked back in to ‘Les Misrabel’ produced by Lil B himself. I knew right away that I had missed out on the five tracks before.
Now i’m re-listening and boy, this is some wonderful shit. Production is straight up and down. On point. Killin it. And The Based God himself is doing work. Save for the more interlude-type tracks, Lil B is on fire, consuming samples of the likes of Prince and Daft Punk and some soul stuff that I wish I was cool enough to identify off the cuff. Oh, and his next project is going to be called Gold House…
