A video styled by Alexander Wang, directed by ASAP Rocky for the single produced by Hit Boy. Like his video for Wassup it features plenty of naked women being used as accessories. Download the track here.
Antwon and Steel Tipped Dove just dropped this remix of My Westside Horizon, considering the former is one of my favorite rappers right now and the latter is a proven outstanding producer/beatmaker I couldn’t wait to hear it. No question it’s excellent. Antwon has an upcoming remix tape which will include this slick Handsome remix by Froskees and possibly another My Westside Horizon remix by Steel Tipped Dove. There’s not much else I need to add here other than you need to get to know these guys if you don’t already, below are some good places to start:
Fresh posse cut via Мишка’s Bloglin so you know it’s good. Death Adders is the work of DJ (for Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire) and Peel Off Crew member SicksentZ with fellow crew member Heron, as well as DVS, Luz, and Lakutis. Up till now I was only familiar DVS and Lakutis, who were killing it in Swann Ganggs and asking Hey Ma, Wassup before becoming Death Adders. But after this I’m looking forward to checking out more of SicksentZ music, I won’t have long to wait as this track is from a mixtape due out this Summer. DVS described the beat as ‘scary robots’ which is true but like, scary robots lighting up their robot drugs to relax after a hard day of robot shit, you know? Listen, download, below:
Following January’s Palm Wine Drinkard and last year’s Hyphy Ballad mixtape, Victor Vazquez aka Kool AD just released 51 with Greedhead/Мишка Records/Veehead. Vazquez recorded entirely it in Oakland with mainly California artists. The majority of the tracks are produced with Amaze 88, who Мишка tells us played with Victor in a hardcore punk band in high school (that makes two Greedhead rappers former punk rockers, the other is Big Baby Gandhi).
Producers include: Young L, Trackademicks and Kechphrase and Mike Finito. Guest verses from: Mondre M.A.N. and Squadda B from Main Attrakionz, Himasnhu, Meyhem Lauren, Trackademicks and Boots Riley. Good music to smoke to bump to get dumb to, I have to agree with what Kool AD says himself on Califronia Music Channel, “When I die they’ll read this and say a genius wrote it oh shit Kool on some oh no no shit”
The kind of collaboration dreams are made of, Theophilus and A$AP’s glass smooth flow over “Big Spender” from the 1966 musical Sweet Charity. That’s some hilariously old school art work though. Listen and download below

The Neighborhood is that ultra likable tight songwriting that’s catchy enough to cross over like MGMT (great band) or Foster the People (okay band), bringing music nerds and their fratty brethren together over good pop rock. If the OC still aired, this would soundtrack next week’s episode. These guys stick to grey and black but there are wonderfully sunny melodies driving their plaintive odes to teen lust. The way singer Jesse Rutherford mewls ‘Calii-for-niaaa’ on Sweater Weather, even dark for the west coast is pretty light. For now they’re keeping their identities secret, like Cults initially did (to their great advantage). And I guarantee they should expect the same amount of buzz as everyone anticipates their upcoming EP and more about exactly who The Neighbourhood is.

Harlem rap phenom Azealia Banks decimates the snare beat Mad Drumz by DJ Master-D. Sure Diplo’s name will lend buzz but credit should be given where credit is due, and word is Diplo jacked it?…uh oh

A day that included Katy Perry covering N*ggas in Paris (which I won’t link because I care about your ears) was desperate for a palate cleanser and Antwon came through. While this video has been around since January it’s part of a mixtape that has only today become available for free download. The fantastic video/song Helicopter was Goldsweats first introduction to the handsome San Jose rapper and the more I listen to him the more excited I am for him to hit it big. He is an absolute joy to listen to, as rappers should be. Download My Westside Horizon below and share it, he deserves a much bigger audience. Produced by DJ Slorp it’s for “THOSE INTO THE STRUGGLES OF A HUSKY MIXED RACE MAN WITH GIRLS AND DRUGS ONT HE BRAIN! ENJOY!” -Antwon
